Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 5:30PM to 8:30PM
Part of Philadelphia’s unparalleled museum and cultural community? Burnt out from a busy schedule of summer activities and programs? Philadelphia’s Historic Neighborhood Consortium (PHNC) has just the thing to rejuvenate your spirits – beer, cornhole, pizza, and history!
Join PHNC for the first in a series of laidback happy hours created specifically for members of the Philadelphia museum and cultural community – this time in the beautiful Powel House garden. Have a few drinks (if you want), network (if you want), eat some pizza (who wouldn’t want to?), enter the Cornhole tournament* (if you want). Take a stroll through the Historic House or simply relax and enjoy the ambiance of August in the garden.
Your $15 ticket gets you: lots of pizza, lots of beer, lots of snacks, access to the Powel House, and something to do on a Wednesday in Old City that doesn’t cost a million dollars.
Doors open at 5:30PM.
Cornhole tournament will start at 6:15PM.
Champions will be crowned (no actual crowns, though–I mean, we fought a Revolution and wrote a Constitution to make sure there wouldn’t be crowns here).
The happy hour ends at 8:00PM.
*Cornhole Tournament – The tournament is a friendly competition for attendees. Please indicate when registering if you are interested in participating. Teams of two (2) will be randomly drawn from the list and added to the bracket – don’t be scared, this isn’t (very) serious. Bracket is single elimination. House rules (Powel House rules?) prevail. Prize for 1st place is bragging rights in the Historic District.
RAIN DATE: August 9. (If it rains then, too, we will give you the option to transfer your ticket to the September Happy Hour or to make a generous donation to the PHNC.)
